Fish Cherokee News
Fishing Report - 10/17/11
Wild fishing remains great. expect a lot of leaves in the water, but also expect a good number of wild fish. I'd recommend small nymphs including hares ears, pheasant tails and birds of pray. If you are looking for a real treat, go fish upper wilson creek for lovely Rainbows, Browns and Brookies. The fishing is hot here right now. You can still catch fish on dries, or you can through a variety of traditional nymph patterns when fish are not rising.
Fishing Report - 10/17/11 Fishing is great on the Jacobs Fork. You can find all three species of fish here. I'd recommend typical DH flies including wooly buggers, eggs, Y2K's, san juan worms or squirmy wormies. Temperatures are falling, so start getting those flies down deep.
Fishing Report - 10/17/11 Shelton Laurel and Big Laurel DH have been stocked and fishing is great. I'd recommend getting flies deep, because of the air temperature dropping at night. Throw wooly buggers, eggs, Y2K's and different worm patterns. Don't overlook big stoneflies.
Fishing Report - 10/17/11 Curtis Creek and Mills Creek have been stocked and fishing is great. Fish flies like hares ears, small wooly buggers, and eggs and you will have success.
Fishing Report - 10/17/11 The N. Toe River is fishing great. There are buckets of fish and they have started to spread nicely. You can still find a ton of fish in large holes, just expect them to be a little more difficult to catch. I'd recommend small wooly buggers, in olive, white, and black. I'd also suggest hares ears, and eggs.
